Cash Pay

All Lactation Consultants accept cash pay. Some lactation consultants have a sliding fee ( EX: Jarrah Foster Wellness, Leche de Coco, & The San Diego Breastfeeding Center) Some accept payments (Birth to Breast).

Superbill

You can request a superbill when you are paying cash. Most lactation consultants will tell you the codes that apply to the consult, and you can check with your insurance if the consult may be reimbursed. The lactation consultatant would give you a superbill and you would submit this to your insurance for reimbursement. Paying the lactation consultant is your financial responsibility regardles of reimbursment.

Baby shower gift

If you have an insurance with few lactation consultant options consider asking family and friends to contribute to a lactation fund or baby wellness fund.
